Hello there,

If you go to the Wheels and Tire section and do a search, there are a couple of threads that are on point.

Very quickly, you need spacers when the offset of the rims is less than that required by the manufacturer, the spacers make up the difference. They go between the rim and the wheel hub and have no relationship per se with the springs, which govern ride height and harshness/stiffness.

You can find out from your manual what rim/tire combo works for your car, or ask tire rack etc. A good tire shop will know by now.

Best of luck

I've been obsessing over bmwwheels.com looking for winter tires.

How do I tell whether a 17" wheel from another model would fit my 330i sport? Will 17" from an 04 3 series or M3 fit? I know there are some brake clearance issues on the zsp

specifcally these?

or something like this?

http://www.bmwwheels.com/bmwwheels_d...119&Series=E46

there's some mixed info throughout the forums about whether m3 wheels or other 3 series wheels (pre-e90) fit. i've been digging through the forums for hte past few hours trying to nail down what i am going to do for winter wheels/tires. i'd like 17's but i can't find any i like, and i want to stick with bmw oem anyway. 17's let me keep rft also

From what I know, I guess the only thing here is the offset. When the offset is ok, u could put any rims u want.It just what I think here. But I don't understant that the spacer would low down the car for 1 to 2, How do they deal with the offset? How may I finger out, which one should I put on?
