Windshield Replacement Recommendations?
Anyone have a good vendor for windshield replacement in/near San Francisco? Driving down to SoCal yesterday and a truck kicked up a rock or a branch right into our Allroad's windshield right below the driver's side windshield wiper. It happened right around Morgan Hill. It hit so hard that a couple small shards of glass flew onto the top of the dashboard. Got out to check the windshield and there was a huge divot below the wiper - very lucky that it wasn't any higher. Anyway, any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I went with Safelite. They did an awesome job on my repair/replacement and if you're in the military you could get a pretty great discount via USAA.
Good luck with the repairs!

I recommend Kuttek Works in San Leandro. I had them work on my old E46 and they did an excellent job at a very reasonable price. These guys are very knowledgeable with BMW and best of all they use Plinkington glass, which is the same company who supplies BMW OEM glass. Unlike chain stores like safelite who uses generic glass made in china.
Check them out at: http://www.kuttek.com/ Last edited by dmz; 08-09-2010 at 12:30 PM.. |

I have had very good experience with Triumph autoglass (mobile) which was recommended by my insurance company (state farm.)
Both times it was on my 2002 C class mercedes. I went with the Mercedes orig windshield due to rain sensing wipers. The price was good, service was fast and good results overall. |
