Now I wish they'd stuffed up the order on my car...

Yea it's great to hear that the dealer was sincere enough to sit down work things out and actually look at it from a customers perspective... Glad things are turning out better for you

Thanks. Having never owned a BMW (have had Audi, Lexus and VWs prior), I was quite concerned reading these forums regularly about what to expect. It just goes to show you that some good customer service will result in referrals even following some of the most difficult situations.

I wonder if in fact that they did order ur car but sold it to someone else by mistake coz u said u got information all the way from product and another letter saying that it was on the ship.
Just a guess and it doesn't really matter now anyway since they have compensated u for their mistake. Not bad after all!!! Congrads!!!

in the end, mistakes can and will happen. the difference between a good dealer and a bad one (as in most if not all customer service situation) is how they fix the problem. unless it's quite blatant that they're taking you for a ride, i would tend to give the benefit of the doubt. reason is that, unless i'm willing to run to the next dealer, you can get a win-win situation and earn some goodwill on your side (which you can use later on) if you allow them to fix the problem.
of course, this doesn't mean you give them a free ride. as i suggested, make them "pay" for the mistake (money-wise and/or in kind), and ensure that it costs (or may cost) them more to do shenanigans like selling a car you ordered to someone else for a higher price. it worked quite well for me. i had a minor spec issue when i ordered my car and they added heated seats and paint/leather protection free. since then, every time i have my car serviced, i am offered a loan car or get a ride to and from the airport (when i have the car serviced while i'm on a trip) for free. also had some problems fixed/parts replaced under goodwill. i guess the rule treating them well gets you treated well has worked for me. |

September produced e90
Just visited a dealer in qld for more info as I'm looking for an e90. And though the information for September produced e90s is still "highly confidential and not to be shared with distributor or customers", the dealer shared the details with me... and I was BLOWN AWAY !
There are so many changes !!! mostly minor but some big ones. Not sure again if I can give them out but there is a BIG (20 odd pages) document that highlights all the updates on the newer models. All I can say - No external changes. Technical changes, interior and options changes. Also you can order one now and state you want a September produced version !!! CANT WAIT |

Mate, I am not fully aware of the legal side of stuff and I am not yet privileged to send PM's (apparently I have to make some more posts). As soon as I can, I will let you know

Don't forget with spec changes to check they also haven't excluded anything - e.g. I was looking at a MY08 brochure and Comfort Access was standard on several models whereas now it is optional. I suppose also the 3er is getting towards the end of its model cycle so presumably they are rolling out some of the technology (stop-start, improvements in iDrive/nav/ICE, suspension enhancements etc) prior to the update. No bad thing.

yeah the cycle time of the E90 is almost coming to an end, started production in 2005 which means it'll cease in 2012 (the usual seven years cycle)

Well to be honest, I really havent dealt with motorline, but I was very surprised that one sales person told me to come next week as they were attending to another customer... but all the other sales people were free, and this person told me no one is free... sorry
