Multifunction button retrofit problem

Hello. I have europe model e90 320i produced 3/2005 basic steering wheel without buttons and I now installed new sport steering with buttons. Car doesn't have iDrive. There was a plug for buttons in module behind the airbag. After reprogramming the car, buttons did not activate or work.

Anybody know solution or for example BMW orginal pdf:s to get these buttons work?

Multifunction button retrofit problem

GOOGLE e92coupemanual1.pdf

you will see, most of the buttuns can only be used for iDrive
therefore, the buttons are useless without iDrive

There are also wheel buttons for non-iDrive cars. Buttons are different than iDrive-version. Buttons are for radio and telephone.

The problem is related to wiring or switch center under the steering wheel. Anybody know something about non-iDrive, no-multifunc steering wheel retrofitting to multifunc. steering wheel?

I am bringing this thread to life.

I have a 10/2005 non-iDrive 330i with a no-multifunction M steering wheel and want to retrofit a multifunction M steering wheel.

What do I need in order to do this?

you need to change the connector behind the wheel to accomodate the multifuntion

also the buttons specific to your model
then the vehicle must be programmed for the function to be active

thats it
