exhaust leak from wastegate arms? tuners, mechanics need opinions?

hey everyone!

so i had a nasty exhaust leak at the vband clamp on the downpipes creating horrible partial throttle conditions. i finally replaced the gaskets and clamps to make sure its sealed. so my partial throttle conditions are fixed, but my idle would sit at around 600rpm then dip and rise to 700rpm(same as when i had a leak). i decided to seafoam again to make sure the leak was gone.

i noticed a small amount of smoke coming from the front turbo area, and NOT from the downpipe clamp like before. is it possible that there could be a leak coming from the wastegate arm itself? i ask this because at cold start, every time i start the car, and throttle tip-in in neutral, it rattles pretty badly.

any ideas or experiences are welcomed!

thank you!

you need your actuator arm replaced to the thicker revised version, or new turbos.

my idle was great and smooth till i put catless dp's in, then the idle started to spit around. i found out i messed up the vband clamp and had a leak and fixed it and then the idle went smooth again. then the dreaded rattling noise from the wastegates got bad and now the idle started the same thing as when i had the leak, and wala...a leak, but its not from either side of the downpipes :-(.

also, the smoke was from the seafoam i put in to expose any exhaust leaks.

now, i'm thinking of upgrading the turbos, is asr keeping the factory units or do they have a retrofit like the uk and rob becks kits?

thank you for your suggestions!
