LI-ers, question for you
Okay, I have a boatload of wood that i chopped up in my backyard. Can they be used for firewood? Anyone interested if they can be?
![]() If not... I can simply just burn them...but I cannot find the legality behind this issue. Obviously, BBQ pits and similar outdoor burning devices is an exception, but what if I want to dispose of these by turning them into carbon...can I do that? I have a 1/4acre property with surrounding neighbors. Thanks! |

I don't think you can burn them. I think each town differs in the rules but most prohibit it. One of your neighbors is bound to call the cops...regardless if you are watching it with the garden hose ready to go.

my dad had the cops/firedept called on me once or twice when i would just burn a small pile of leaves/sticks. But if u got a fire bit or something then it really depends on your neighbors and which way the wind is blowing. I've been at parties with fire pits/outdoor fireplaces with wood burning with no problems

So i guess that depends on the neighbors if they call the popo's on me. The last one I made at a friend's house, the pit was so hot that we put glass in it and it melted. |
