Need some tasteful mods..but which ones?

Hi folks,

Got a cosmetically standard 335d m sport coupe in alpine white. Had the car over a year now and it's perfect in most respects. The downside is/are the RFT's, plain looks and std sound system which hopefully I'll get done in a week or two.

So far, I've bought the boot spoiler and black grills from ssdd-motorsport that should arrive in couple of days. After that, I'm intending to sort out the wheels. Hate the 225's and would love something like lm's or similar. Also, evolve whom my car is mapped with have designed a new back box for the d which is lighter and allows better flow. So looking into that too....

However, a small request for the AW massive. Can you post up pics of your cars, so I may see what tasteful mods you have done in order so to decide on mine.

TIA

Tiko

Massive?

I think your car will look great as it is. Maybe some gloss black grills and a drop may sharpen up the look for you!

Well, white is the new black....

I've got the black grills going on and for lowering it I've looked into purchasing H&R kit. However, I'll only do the latter when the wheels and tyres are changed.

Current wheels are the 19' 225 I'm assuming that are on all msport coupes...As to what I want well I'm leaning towards lm's but in black. However, I've seen some pics of other styles, hence I just wanted to see how they look on AW's and inparticular from any UK AW modders.

38 pages...suggests AW massive lol.

LOL...it was just a loosely used term my friend. Chiilax

Besides..I notice your location, it says the ghetto. Too me, that sounds like you live in a council ridden ratty a$$ estate. BUT, I know you don't (hopefully), it's just banter terminology.

Tiko love the RR Sport on your profile pic-is that yours too?

With my 335d I have got the black grilles, carbon badges and wheel centre caps, rear M3 lip spolier, carbon diffuser and upgraded angel eyes and front fog lights to white bulbs. I am also doing LED interior lights then getting a gloss white wrap as it is currently black. Also off for an Evolve re-map!

Like you want to change the wheels and RFT tyres next year. What about smoking your rear tail lights-saw this on a white 320d at Mstyle this weekend and it looked very nice. Fancy some LED rear lights myself

Hi Vik...Yes it was mine. Sold it to make way for the latest model of RRS few months ago, however personal problems came about and therefore delayed the purchase. Shame I sold it too soon as I loved the high stance and looks of it. It was greatly welcomed compared to driving about in the 335d some days. Fingers crossed, I can take delivery in Mar 2010 for it.

Your mods are pretty much spot on. I too have the black grills and m3 spoiler being fitted soon. Love the new halos in the latest spec'd BM's and my man at SSDD is trying to source these for me. As for wheels, they definitely need to go. Even more so the RFT's, I can't believe BMW put them on their cars. Bad design and decision making in my opinion.

I did so many mods to my M3 which I sold to make way for the 335d and vowed I wouldn't tinker about with this. But, the bug has got me again to freshen up the looks and hopefully with some subtle changes this can be done.

Cheers

Carlos you're a legend from what I read....Where you not a regular contributor on PH's? If so, I humbly apologise for my cheeky remarks :-)

I too have a cardboard box...most new builds are these days.

Try Eibach pro-kit springs for less drop or you will be taking a big hit on ride height.

Thanks Tiko yes the modding bug wasn't meant to bite me this time but it has! But think we are both keeping it subtle which is cool Aah the new RRS lucky thing-absolutely stunning vehicle my other half is after one too! Very good choice!!

Agreed dont like the RFTs at all so wheels and tyres are probably next on the list!

My M3 was first lowered with eibachs and then I opted to go for H&R's. To be honest I felt that the H&R's gave a better ride and slightly stiffened up the car a bit more...Although I know this can't be said for the 335d as suspension is total differently setup. Hence it's possible that eibachs are the better option here

I've been looking at HRE's for wheels but can't justify the huge outlay at this moment. BMsport have some cracking lm reps in black, that honestly look fantastic. My biggest worry is non-gen wheels withstanding our recent surge of potholes and generally bad roads.

Yes I am I suppose mate, PH is full of cocks. I did once frequent there often.

Only problem with the cardboard box is when it gets wet...
