Spark plug tool and plugs?

From what i understand i need a 12 point tool from ecs but other than that i have no idea what i need. i see their is a couple places to get the plugs for like $10 each i just need the right tools.

what other tools do i need for the install besides the ecs tool i heard you need a special wrench, on the other hand i heard you just tourqe it until it clicks and than you know its in place correctly.

Just a standards 3/8 ratchet and extension..along with 5mm allens to pull the cover off. It's really an easy job.

I've never used a torque wrench for plugs...just get them about 'that' tight. I'd suggest putting Anti-seize on them too.

actually you can't just use the ECS spark plug tool 'as is' so to speak...you will need to do some tweaking when using that tool. I dont recall the specifics right now...I bought the OEM tool for this reason instead....I talked with ECS and they confirmed it as well back when I was looking into doing this maintenance myself.

Go to tischer. They used to have a deal for the oem tool and 6 plugs. You'll be sure you have everything you need.

I have and used the ECS tool as is...it works perfectly...for those who have problems, please elaborate..

The socket goes into the hole, grips the plug tightly, twists it out, and vice versa...what else does it need to do?

i have the ecs tool and encountered the issue. Issue is the magnet inside doesnt allow the plug to seat into the socket fully. I popped out the magnet and it works fine. Others put a standard plug socket rubber piece in there to hold the plug, but i do it without it.

Use a standard torque wrench and torque it to 17 ft-lbs IIRC.

Oh, I dont think I had that issue. you can use a 3/8 fuel hose and stick it down there...grab the plug and pull it out

Again, I get them that tight...but an accurate torque never hurts.

Yeah 3/8 fuel line works or if you have a retractable magnet. Either are fine. I also got mine from here http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...2@Spark%20Plug

I got my slim socket for BMW sparkplugs on ebay for like 15 bucks or something super cheap. Check out ebay as well for tools. I don't mind using cheap alternatives for things like sockets.
