General Exclaim UHP, anybody knows this brand?

i am getting an M6 Rep with tires..but not sure if General Exclaim UHP is a good brand and how abt the quality. It is the cheapest option i could get...there are also Kuho ECSTA SPT and Goodyear Eagle F1 to choose from..

anybody knows the quality of them? if the cost just about the brand name..i would rather just go for the cheapest...otherwise..i need concern on the quality...

Being a fellow Canadian we don't have a lot of access up here to this brand (General).

I looked at it a lot when looking for some rubber for my 19 inch wheels

Basically I think it comes down to this, its a pretty good tire at a very good price. If you are not caught up in having a major brand name tire then it could be a good choice for you.

I think it would do very well in a comparo with the big names in the group mostly because of the value play it provides.

I myself am going with the Goodyear option

If you do a search, you'll find a lot of people raving about all three of the tires you have mentioned.

If you worried about costs...or need to save some money, then I think General Exclaim UHP is probably a good buy. It won't give you the peak performance possible...but it will be pretty good and for the money you won't find anything better.

Personally, I don't mind spending a little more on tires...so I am buying the Goodyears. The Goodyear Eagle F1 will give a little more performance at a modestly higher price.

Of course...if money is absolutely no object...then get the Michelin PS2s. Those are widely regarded as the best performing available for the E90/91/92.

ive read nothing but great things about the exclaim UHP tires.... its not a full summer tire, its all-season, but so is the toyo proxes 4....

i wanted to get these tires for my wheels, but the shop where i bought my wheels did not carry general tires. and they game me a sick price on the Kumho SPT's....

but, in 275/30-19, the kumho's weigh 30lbs, while the generals are the lightest tire on the market, weighing in at 25lbs.

thats 5lbs less per tire.... 20lbs on 4 tires....

i'd say pretty impressive

I'm getting them for my iForged wheels. Had them on my last set (only the rear) and they were great.

I haven't driven on them yet but I have two set waiting summer for my CSL rep for my E46 330xi and E91 328xiT. I have heard very good things from the General UHP and they are so affordable. The best kept secret in tires right now IMO.

It is the highest rated performance tire according to tire rack. Also the best wear and the cheapest as well. I'm leaning toward getting these. BTW it has a M+S rating. This has got to be the best tire in the world, all thing considered!

My buddy Driver72 on this forum has them.
He loves them and bang for the buck they can't be beat.

I'm tempted to sell my Toyo T1Rs for get a set.
But, my mind always goes back to my PS2s.
I got the Toyos due to a 3 month back order on my PS2s and I'm not too thrilled with them really........

but, they Generals are pretty good from what I hear.
I drove his car and didn't notice anything bad, but didn't push the car to feel the tires work either so........

tirerack states they are summer tires. and i know first hand they are. i just met up with my buddy yesterday, and he has General Exlaim UHP on his car and he was stuck in a parking lot cuz we got snow up here. I pulled out with my Toyo Proxes 4 real easy, but he was stuck for 30 minutes.

they grip pretty good on dry tarmac, it seems they break loose if pushed hard but are very predictable.They are phenominal in the rain.very impressed.I have them in 19's for my CSL's.

They are both m+s rated. For me that translates into being able to deal with lower temps. Snow capable is just a bonus. I've been leaning more towards the Toyo Proxes 4.

I know you have AWD. What was your friend (General Exlaim UHP) driving?

I'm going to be a cheap-a$$ and give these a shot on my forged CSLs, because even if they suck, I can just rip 'em off and get new ones...

I had PS-2s on my previous M5 and it's pretty hard to consider anything else... but when the tires and going to cost almost as much as my wheels, I have to think twice... I really hope the General's exceed my expectations...

he's got my answer, they have a M+S rating which mean its all season....

but probably does suck big time in winter.

i would drive it strictly as a summer tire

my friend had a manual rx8. he was stuck in the snow when there was only an inch of snow on the ground. for me, i was driving in like 6 inches of snow and i was fine. i guess the AWD helped get traction. but i would defintely say the all-season treads of the Toyos helped the most.
