DVD Player for rear headrest?
I tried a search and didn't find what I was looking for.
I know there's an available OEM dvd entertainment system, but it's way overpriced. I just want my kid to be able to watch a dvd for long road trips and the like. She's a little too young to have one in her lap, so I was hoping to find one that I could easily attach to the rear headrest of the e90, power through one of the car's outlets, and put the audio through the aux jack in the armrest. Anyone here have a similar setup? Anyone have any recommendations?

you could Velcro strap a portable dvd player to the headrest, and run a 1/8th headphone cord to AUX port, wouldn't be that bad if its only short term- try wal-Mart for a cheap portable dvd player, most come with remotes, so you wouldn't necessarily be worried about covering the buttons while attaching, only problem is to find a way to insert the DVDs

Hi Hankshaw
I came across the same situation as you did so I had 2 screens installed in my headrests and wired them up to an aftermarket 1/2 DIN DVD player that I installed in my glove box. I use a wireless transmitter with wireless headphones for the sound and I also spliced it into my AUX wires (not the actual jack but under the console area) so I can play it through the system speakers. Not hard to do but I ran in to some problems that were more or less attributed to cheap screens. You can also look up a product called Envision Systems Revolution II. It's a complete headrest and DVD player option that you just wire into +12/Common (think cig lighter) and each DVD player is contained in the headrest. This is the option I'm going to go to in my coupe, albeit a more pricier route http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=headrest http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...light=headrest |
