So I have to replace a couple things in the front suspension on the passenger side of the car, one of them being the strut. I thought that I might wanna go ahead and lower the car and possibly replace the struts at the same time, but came up with a couple questions...

I'm only going to lower about an inch, I was thinking either H&R Sport or Eibach Pro springs.

Question is, do I have to replace the struts at the same time, or will the OEM ones be fine given that I'm not lowering very much?

Sometime in the near future I'll also be replacing the wheels on the car. Probably with some 19" staggered offset wheels. Should I be concerned about any rubbing or anything since I'm lowering?

The setup I'm thinking...

Possibly Eibach matched struts
Gianelle Spezia-5, 19x8.5 front, 19x9.5 rear. I think the tires come out to 265/30 rear and 235/35 front

The H&R Sports are likely going to lower you more than an inch...it'll be more in the 1.2-1.3" neighborhood...Eibach is about 1" up front and 0.75" in the rear.

If you have the cash, you might as well install new shocks/struts to save on labor. If not, you'll be fine, I would just expect the stock shocks/struts to wear a little quicker, especially with the H&R's as they have a higher spring rate

Rubbing all depends on the width of your wheel and offset. Offsets in the 30's generally work well with little to no fender work when lowered. Anything less than that will require fender rolling

you might a well replace the shocks when you replace springs... stock ones will wear out faster on lowered springs, o save yourself the two intall fees and do it all at once, it will make the ride quality better.

go with eibach pro. they ride great and perform magnificently

I've got H&R springs (lowered ~30mm) and 19" rims. 235/35 fronts and 265/30 in rear. No rubbing and ride height is nice but definetly a harder ride.

I always recommend to my customers to change out both springs and shocks at the same time. Aftermarket springs typically have a more aggressive spring rate. This will cause your oem shocks to blow prematurely as well. Let's break this down in terms of cost. You'll spend about $230-300 bucks for aftermarket springs, another $250-300 for an installation, and another $65-125 for an alignment. When your OEM sport or non-sport shocks blow your going to have to spend another $700-800 on shocks, another installation fee, and another alignment. If you calculate that all together, you would saved a whole lot more money doing it right the first time around.

I would recommend that you check out the KONI FSD w/ Eibach Pro Spring Comobo. On average Eibach Pro Lowering Springs will lower your vehicle 1.4" in the front and 1.0" inch in the rear, providing for a lower center of gravity and improved handling. I'll shoot you over a PM with more details!
