JBL MS-8 Questions
I've done searching and whatnot, but the info is piecemeal at best, so I figured I'd start a thread.
I'm leaning towards putting this in my Logic7 e90. I realize some of these questions may be stupid to some of you, so I apologize, but here goes. 1) From my understanding it is an amp with an automatic EQ based on a microphone. I had an Alpine IMPRINT in my previous vehicle, so I get this point. Do I have to have my L7 reprogrammed to HiFi? How do I do this and how much does it generally cost? 2a) How difficult is installation? I've done full systems before in a 350z and Trailblazer SS, so I generally know what I'm doing, but I like to be sure ahead of time. 2b) What do I need for installation? Power/ground wires obviously, but do I NEED Technic's harness? 3)I plan on adding a corner trunk sub to the system and leaving all other speakers stock. Can't the MS-8 supply the RCA outputs so I don't need to splice into the harness for this? 4) Does the MS-8 REPLACE or AUGMENT the factory L7 amp? I'm hoping to sell the L7 amp afterwords to offset some of the cost. Thanks everyone in advance. I will make a step-by-step when/if I do this. |

Been there, read that. Very piecemeal, as i was saying. Thanks for the link though.
*edit* Most of the questions here are just for confirmation on info in the other thread. Just need clarity. Last edited by wren57; 09-08-2010 at 08:57 PM.. |

1.) No. If you want to do it, search for "autologic".
2a.) Piece of cake. 2b.) Technic's harness FTW. You can get away without it, but you'll have to cut existing wiring... 3.) Yes 4.) If you reprogram to Hifi, you can take the amp out and sell it (but what happens when you sell the car???) |

he'll sell it to some idiot after he splits the 4 channels coming out of the HU and wires them directly to the speakers. and then the buyer will start a thread here and catch the audio bug
