On Sunday I lost a very close friend (brother) of mine to a reckless 17 year old kid.

Here is the article if you all want to know what happened.. Just really hard for me to get into the details:

Man dies in hit-and-run; teen arrested

STOCKTON - A 29-year-old Elk Grove man was killed Sunday night in a hit-and-run crash in north Stockton for which a 17-year-old boy was later arrested.

The California Highway Patrol reported motorcyclist Christopher Cayabyab was riding south on Thornton Road around 9:45 p.m. when the 17-year-old, driving a 2003 Toyota Corolla, made a left turn against a red light directly in front of him.

Cayabyab was unable to avoid the Corolla, hit it and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center and pronounced dead.

The CHP said the teenage driver didn't stop but was found later at his home and arrested on suspicion of felony hit-and-run, vehicular manslaughter and driving without a license. He was booked into juvenile hall.

The CHP said neither alcohol nor drugs were a factor in the crash.

Anyways there is going to be a couple events (car wash and club event) going on a that you are all welcome to attend. All proceeds are going to go to the family to help pay for the funeral and for his son that just turned 11 years old yesterday..

OMG. Sorry to hear.

i currently reside in stockton, i saw the candle shrine a few days ago. a lot of my friends knew him. RIP.

yeah Stockton is a real small place, seems like everyone knows each other..
That's why I thought I would throw it out there for the 209 folks..
On Monday I drove out there and we did this whole candle light vigil..
