Proper Tire Pressure for my 2006 BMW 330i?
Just purchased a 2006 BMW 330i with sport package. It had the run flat tires that needed to be replaced. I got a set of Falken Ziex ZE-512; Front: 225/40ZR-18 XL 92W B; Rear: 255/35ZR-18 90W B. I drove it from the tire shop and the TPMS immediately came on. I was headed toward the dealership to get an inspection sticker so I just keep driving to the dealership. They stated the tires were over inflated and put all tires at 35psi. The TPMS has not come back on but it seems to drive a little rough. Meaning that I seem to feel ever little bump. Alignment and balance seem perfect. What do you guys suggest as far as tire pressure? The door states the front should be 32psi and rear 36psi when cold.
Also, I've never driven a car with the high performance tires. I was driving a 2002 BMW 325 but it just had normal tires on it. Do the high performance tires just ride a little rougher since they are so thin? They just seem so small to me. I think my OCD is just coming out a little. I purchased the tires on the recommendation of someone who said they were 60K mile tires but when I looked it up they are 30k mile tires. Also, the reviews I've looked at gave it an average of 3 stars out of 5. Just like anything, some people stated they were the best tires ever and some did not like them. Thanks! |

In the summer time anywhere between 35 and 40 psi should be fine.
They are not the best tires ever, or the worst, they are decent and should hold up for awhile. As far as the feel, you probably are just not used to them, and try to avoid bumps! |

turn the car ON but dont start it. scroll to the TPMS menu and reset it. make sure your tires are inflated properly. information is inside the drivers door.
car will ride a lot rougher than your 325i. and dont expect 20k out of those tires. =D |

Thanks . . . . more
Thank guys. I have a great tire shop who put them on. I'm probably just not use to them. Great car by the way. I just love it. It's such an upgrade from my 325, bigger, more sporty, just feels so much more substantial.
