Need some input please

Hi all, new to leasing, been reading here on a while trying to make sure I gather as much info before I make a decision.

Here is what the dealer quoted me for a 2011 328i Coupe
MSRP 42,450

Prem, Sport, Auto, Metallic paint

.00160 MF
62% Residual
12,000 miles a year
2,000 down....seems high, includes; First month, tax, tag, title, dealer fee and acquisition

554 a month + tax

Obviously I am going to talk them down from MSRP this was just the initial quote, what is invoice on this car? When dealers say invoice does that include MACO? Should I go for invoice + maco + $500?

Lastly is dealer fee negotiable and can't acquisition be financed into the lease?

Thanks for everyones help in advance, trying to make sure I make a prudent decision.

I believe Edmunds.com has invoice pricing with all individual options for your car.

For the invoice price that the dealer quotes, they may include MACO and Training in it. Some roll it into the lease, other make you pay it upfront. Add to this $300-$500 for dealer profit. Some people get there cars AT invoice as well.

In essence. Car Invoice (i.e. Edmunds Invoice including Destination & Handling of $875) + MACO + Training + PRofit should be the way to go about it.

MSRP should never come into negotiations, and it is a bad number to start with as a reference.

Ask for the breakup of Drive-off fee (which is due at signing and looks around 2000 in your case). It sounds about right to me. I think you are putting $0 down for cap-cost reduction?

Dealer fee is nothing, so to speak other than MACO and Training. Not negotiable in CA. $725 acquisition fee and $55 doc fee is nominal and charged by BMWFS. This is going to be part of your $2000 due at signing.

No, you cannot roll this $2000 into lease payment. This is perhaps the minimum required for taking the key of the car

Keep us posted and welcome to the forum!
