Sudden power loss but no limp mode

I got a brand new problem that I thought i would share and hopefully get some input on. its happened to me 3 times in the past 2 months, but seems to happen at random. the car will be running fine throughout my drive, but suddenly i lose horsepower after 2500 rpms. from 1k to 2.5k the car accelerates pretty normal, but once i pass 2500, going WOT is no different than lightly touching the gas. even at full throttle, the car maybe accelerates 1 mph every 1-2 seconds. however, if i push the clutch in and push the gas, the revs jump up just as quickly as it normally does. i dont get any type of CEL or warning light and the car will continue to do this for the rest of my trip until i shut the engine off. once i start it back up, everything is fine. has anyone ever experienced this or have any clue what it might be?

i scanned the ECU after this happened the first time and i found a 29f2(fuel high pressure system) code. ive been having fuel pump issues for about a year now, but everytime i go for service, BMW gives me their latest and greatest "patch" instead of changing the pump. thanks for any input.

I have had this happen to me in the past as well. Could be the throttle plate got jammed?

I have been getting something other than reduced power but not the same as yours. During acceleration the engine will drop to 1000 rpm and pressing the gas pedal does nothing. The rpm will bounce up and down between 500 and 1500 rpm. The tach needle is literally bouncing up and down as the car idles up anddown. AS I mentioned pressing the gas pedaldoesnt do anything. Have to coast to the sideof the road and shut it off and restart.
Been to two dealerships and they cant figure out what is wrong.
Picking up the car tomorrow and I am getting frustrated that i just have to keep itlike this. Power is down, acceleration sluggish and anything but smooth. Happens diring acceleration like when passin gon the freeway, but not regularly.

I had the same thing 2 days ago, no limp mode but felt like it. Scanned the car and got:

29DC:
29DC Cylinder injection switch-off
Error will cause a warning light
Error is not currently present
Test conditions have been completed
Short circuit or signal interruption

Upon restart the problem went away and hasn't come back.
