BMW Lease Offers
So I'm starting to look into leasing a 2011 335ix sedan. I see that BMW always lists their current "Special Offers" on bmwusa.com. The offer for this particular car is:
$539/month $0 Down 10,000 miles a year (which is ok for me) Base on an MSRP of $47,500 Are people finding that BMW dealerships are striking such deals? Based on pricing trends, is seems that I can get a $52,000 MSRP'd car for $47,000 sale price (i.e. around invoice price). Would the "Special Offer" still apply in this senario? Bascially, I'm looking for a 335ix sedan with M Sport, Cold weather and Navigation for <$550/mo lease with $0 down. Am I looking for something that cannot be obtained? Just want to know what the deal is before I begin my dealership visits. Thanks! |

Did you price it correctly? I optioned a 335xi with m-sport, nav, cold weather and I get an MSRP of $50,725
Plus since the special has an MSRP of 47,500 going up to 50,725 you will not get a payment less than $550 without anything down. I did a quick calculation based on average deals and current lease rates and the payment for the options you want is around ~$612 / month.

BMW Lease Special says "Monthly lease payments of $539.00 for 36 months based on MSRP of $47,500.00" Car I'm envisioning has a MSRP of $50,325 (choosing Alpine White). Edmunds has invoice at $46,300 (Edmonds "True Market Value" is $45,855, not sure what thats all about..it includes a -$1,840 incentive). Based on this, I think I could negotiate said car to under the $47,500 MSRP mentioned in the Lease Special. Question is: In this scenario, would I still be able to get the $539/mo lease special? Yes, I know. Wish it did though! |

I can kind of see where you're trying to equate the "deal" but you have to keep in mind that the deal is based on the numbers BMW is providing. The MSRP and the Sale Price affect the lease numbers. So you can't just say well the MSRP in the deal is 47,500 and if the "average" sale price is close to this number then I should be able to get the deal. Again, this is because of residual, etc. I don't like using edmunds to price the car, the one that is accurate and have used in my calculations is carprices.com. Option your car out and then add about 500 on top of that for dealer profit. You can then plug in the numbers into a lease calc and see for yourself how much its going to be. Also, since they are using a credit, you have to find out how they are using it. Example: Auto Option Credit, Auto Option is included in MSRP but it gets discounted from sale price. It all depends how the credit is applied.

You should be able to do better than the advertised deal. Most dealers will price the car lower than the advertised deal requires. Keep in mind that tax license and registration is not included in the advertised deal so your drive off will got from $0 to about $1000.
I was just quoted $527 per month on a 335I with metalic paint, premium, sport, nav, hk and I pod with $1232 down. MSRP on that car was $50,200 so its better than the $519 add for the $45,500 msrp car |

I thought the coupe would be alot more expensive, but the same car is only about $1,000 more in Invoice price and Edmunds "True Market Value". Any reason why a lease on a coupe would be more expensive? I checked carprices.com and came up with virtually the same pricing as edmunds.com Last edited by Kevin M; 09-16-2010 at 02:07 PM.. |
