Exclamation HELP! Stuttering worse than Porky Pig

1. Car starts fine. Highly doubt it's the fuel pump.
2. No limp mode. Just an SES light. SES light was flashing during misfires.
3. Certain times, the car drives fine. Most stumbling/stuttering comes from initial throttle input (around 20%). When I push the pedal down and gain boost, stuttering/stumbling goes away.

Codes from the BT Tool:

Mods? I'm guessing some sort of tune and a wire-in o2 sim?

JB3 2.0, UR Catless DPs (w/ BMS DP Fix V3), VK FMIC, Custom Catless Exhaust.

I've had these mods in the car for a while without running into any issues whatsoever.

The misfire can easily be caused by a bad o2 sensor. A bad o2 sensor can often turn out to be a bad or poorly adjusted wire-in o2 sim. My suggestion would to remove your o2 sensor, clear the codes and see what returns. Then take the next step. But reducing as many variables as possible at first is critical.

I had this intermittent problem too....but I just got the newest BMW software update and my car has not exhibited this issue since.

When was the last time you had our car updated?

As note, I also had my o2's replaced, injectors and Turbos replaced and this still happenend. Sometimes it would flash, then go away on its own.

Good Luck. I would def bring the car back to stock and try to get the software update first.

The car was updated very recently (no more than a month). Car ran fine if not better until now.

i have some of the same issues ( shuddering and stuttering )with out the misfire codes. had the rear o2 sensor replaced and still happened, but now im throwing codes for the precat sensor. from what i have read the precat sensor is the one responsible for AFR, so thats the next one for me to replace. the lambda codes you have are for bank 2 o2 sensors.

im having these similar issues... theres just so many places where it can go wrong . I had update like maybe 1-2 moonths ago too and i think it got worse. I had injectors changed at that time. Aside from that entire list of possibilities, another one can be improperly calibrated injectors....

I had 6 injectors installed and BMW forgot to install the couplers that hold them in place. This created misfires in all cylinders. I had similar o2 codes when i installed the 02 simulator for my catless dPs. A sensor may have vibrated loose from the pipe, this could possibly create misfires and 02 codes at the same time. As stated earlier.... thats a long list of codes.

quick update:

After creating this post, i took the entire harness off (including the O2 sims). Obviously, O2 codes and the SES light came on after a few miles, but the stuttering went away. A buddy of mine had the same problem (after getting a software update). Apparently, with the new software from BMW, the O2 sim needs to be stronger. I put the harness back on, and bumped it up to 5 o'clock (BMS V3 O2 sims btw). After a few hundred miles, the stuttering has never returned. I did go for a really aggressive drive this past weekend, resulting in fuel mixture codes as well as the return of one of the lamda codes. A little tweaking and hopefully all of this should go away.

Some of the lambda codes are pointing to your precat o2's, not the post o2's. I have stock DP's and have pretty much the exact codes and symptoms you have. Obviously I am not running an o2 sim as I have stock DP's. I do get the fuel control mixture and lambda transmission control error codes. I am taking out my Procede to see if they continue to come on.

as previously in history, the car runs very smooth and none of the codes have returned yet. I will keep running stock for the next week to see if they stay off. Will keep you guys posted. I have had these intermittent codes for the past 2 years. I have had the Bank 2 o2 replaced, new turbos, and new injectors (all six). I am actually running out of ideas. The funny thing is the car was also getting these errors when I was running the GIAC software as well. So something about being tuned creates this issue, that's not injector or o2 sensor related. Any ideas or thoughts are obviously appreciated.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but it's better than starting a new one.

I have an older XEDE tune, just removed, and had the following codes:
29E0 Mixture control
29E1 Mixture control
29D2 Combustion misfire cyl 6

Not sure what the fix is for a completely stock car, other than clearing the (potential) tuner codes and taking it to the dealer... The exhaust valve code is also on there, which I'll clear, but hopefully be able to keep the other codes so that they can diagnose.

Any help is appreciated.
