Did a quick search and didn't see anyone with a similar problem, so thought I'd post up and ask.

When I'm driving around and come completely off the throttle, I get a rattling/buzzing noise that continues until the rpms drop to idle. I've already had the wastegates replaced and since it's not there at idle or under any load, it has me stumped.

For example, when I'm driving in a parking garage in 1st, then let off the gas to roll over a speed bump, I hear a buzzing/rattling noise until the engine winds down. Apply gas and it stops. At idle no noise.

Could it be the exhaust flap rattling? (Disconnected the electrical plug, did not do the golf tee mod.) Could it be the wastegates again?

Waiting on my BavTech to scan for codes before I bring it back to the dealer to investigate and get updated to progman 32.1. (Running 31ish, I believe.)

It sounds exactly like the wastegates but you said you already had them replaced. Did you have the same sound before?

No, before the wastegates would tick at idle. This sound is different and only when you're off throttle as the motor winds down.

Mine used to tick and rattle at idle then I had the turbos replaced and they started doing what you describe. I've just learned to live with it.

I have this as well. I'm chalking it up to wastegates and have gotten over it. I got it to go away/happen less often by adjusting my wastegate position to 55% or so in the user settings.

Dealer will tell you "you will hear the wastegates on decel...'

so did you disconnect the exhaust valve or not ?
