iKnyazhev - thanks - I noticed that post as well - exactly the same problem I had with my car.
I believe my car was made in Germany as well.

I'm curious where other cars with this same issue were made. Although I'm guessing it's a design flaw or fabrication flaw no matter where the car is made.

Any opinions or info out there?

yes. disconnect if you wish and rattle will be gone. search for "golf tee" mod. there are 2 ways
