What type of paint for mtech diffuser?

About to get the mtech rear bumper and the body shop is asking what type of paint I would like for the diffuser. Choices are:

1) Flat Black (no gloss whatsoever)
2) Flat Black with some kind of particles added in (forgot the name but he said it would protect the paint more than no gloss at all)
3) Semi Gloss Black

Any ideas what the factory paint or the most popular choice for looks/protection would be? I'm thinking about going with option #2..
Thanks in advance!

I'd go with whatever your exterior trim is around your windows.

The way it comes is the way that the factory leaves it. No paint required!

All 2011 mtech style and 335iS comes painted glossy black, i believe the older style didn't have anything painted.

id say depends on the color of your car...

my car is black, i had the diffusor painted semi gloss black at first and it looks TERRIBLE! looked almost like they made a mistake painting it. It was close to glossy but not so much. Looks really really bad. Bad enough that I bought my car back an hour later and had them paint it matte black. It was bad enough that I drove with no diffusor for 3 days until it was done.
So if your car is black do NOT do semi gloss

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I ended up going with flat black plus hardener. The guy at the shop recommended it for a matte look with the protection of a semi gloss. I have a 2007 AW E92 which does not have the shadowline trim so it was difficult to decide. Also, the costs were covered by insurance as this was a result of an accident. I believe they charge around 300 for paint and installation. I hope it comes out nice!
