Piano Black CSL rep sex inside

Hey guys. A few months back I picked up a set of 19" CSL reps off of this very board. It was a less than pleasant experience as the seller who shall remain nameless (cough* cough* phozenstone) lied about the widths, ET's and brand of wheel. I basically paid $750.00 for a set of Bluestar CSL reps that you can buy new for $595.00. Well as they say caveat emptor.

I tried to turn around and sell the wheels. It was obviously a hard sell as 1) I was honest about the brand, ET's etc and 2) someone could purchase the same exact wheels for $595 shipped. I could of been a D-bag like the person I bought them from and lied just to sell them but I am a firm believer in Karma.

Like they say, when life throws you lemons you make lemonade and that is just what I did. I called Bluestar and spoke to a rep about their wheels. They were very pleasant and assured me that their wheels are as good as any CSL style rep out there. They also verified that the wheels would fit my E92.

A friend of mine owns an electroplating and powder coating business. I gave him the wheels, he stripped them of the factory gray and applied a piano black gloss coating. I purchased some OEM M-logo stickers from eBay and bought a set of RAD wheel locks to finish them off.

My girlfriend bought me the (2) front tires for my birthday (I love that girl) and I picked the rears up a few days later. Let me say that Redline Motorworks was awesome to deal with as was Gary from Tirerack. I went with the Continental DWS all seasons 235 front and 265 rear.

So far these tires are truly one of the best you can get for the money. Would you believe that the ride is only slightly rougher than the stock 17" RFT's? I could not believe it either. Well enough of the talking...on to the photos!

Congrats on turning that horrible buying experience into something positive.

Your DWS are "rougher" than the RFTs? What RFTs did you have? I went from stock 17 inch all season RFTs to 18 inch Max performance Conti DW. The ride feel and noise improved drastically over the Bridgestone RFT.

I was sorry to hear about the "rip off" but piano black wheels look good.

If you're going for the "murda" look I would get some black vinyl stickers and tape the yellow reflectors. It's so easy to do and makes the car much cleaner, just my .02.

Yes I went from 17" to 19". The originals were 225/45R17 Contis A/S the new tires are 235/35R19 and 265/30R19.

That is actually a good idea. I thought about getting painted reflectors. I have a friend that does vinyl and could do it for me. What % tint to you have? I'm think I'm going to go with 35%. Do you have any window scratching issues?

Looks really good! Sucks about the experience, but it sounds like you spun it around into something awesome. I'd definitely vinyl over the reflectors with black wheels, but the car looks great!

Painted reflectors are a hassle and will cost you more $$. Vinyl is easier and more economical.

I have legal 35% tint but if you have black interior i would choose a higher percentage, say 40-45% and the opposite if you have cream interior.

No issues with the window scratches but just the dot matrix for the rear windows but I'm over it.

Digging your story! Consider smoked reflectors as an option, too.

Thanks. I like the hyperblack on black. I was thinking about that too. It looks very clean.

It's Defruscia Industries and it's in Johnston. Ask for Frank.
