1000th JB3 thread
I know, this has been discussed to past death...I searched and was reading quite a few threads..
I've gotten engine malfuntion I think 4 times now...about 5K miles on my JB3I think? give or take.. The first three have been common codes (can't remember exactly which ones). I searched after and did see that they didn't mean much (misfire/etc.). I got another engine malfunction today. I'll hook up the BT when I get home and hopefully it's at least another "Common" code. Every time, it did go into limp mode but once I stopped the car and then re-started it was fine. Of course I'm always nervous about the damn HPFP/coils/spark plugs/etc....which I'm even more nervous over here (I only have a few months left before I go back to the states). I'm nervous here cause having to deal with a German Dealer can be a real pain. I have read on most of the threads that it is NOT normal to be getting constant engine malfunctions and to call/E-mail Terry. I guess my questions are these.... 1. IS it common for JB3 2.0 to get this a lot? 2. What is Terry's E-mail/# if that's the answer I'm going to get, lol?

I got limp mode several times, and the solution was the lagfix setting. At value 70 the car limps no more.
I hope maybe this will help.

Codes are not common, so your car is not up to the task in some fashion perhaps.
-Either your running too much boost for your mods. - Not enough effective octane -Weak Fuel Pump -Need new plugs -Weak/leaky Injectors -Or coilpacks These are all guesses of course until you actually tell us your codes. *** Terry's email is right on his site, he doesnt hide it. |
