Hello boys and girls,

Before someone slaps my hand, yes i have searched and even read many post. Im thinking this question is more pointed so I will receive more specific answers.

I want a new exhaust, I have two requirements:

- Absolutely NO drone
- Not too "tin-y" I dont want to sound like a fartcan.

also if possible i'd like to get a complete system from the DP's back catless

Though I love the look and sound, I have read there are droning issues with AE and vanguard, which is not acceptable.

Is there drone with the BMW PE?
Can anyone suggest another option?

Thanks but I'm looking for the "least" droning DP-Back full exhaust, not just the muffler section...
From my understanding Remus is just the muffler section..

All catback exhausts will drone regardless of make. There is really no science. Go with an exhaust that has resonators. If it's still not perfect add another set of resonators to further fine tune the exhaust. I did it with my exhaust and I have virtually very little drone at all and NO rasp whatsoever even being totally catfree

I running for 2 weeks now on my Vanguard with catless downpipes. Im not so satisfied with the sound. Its a bit better when the car is fully warmed up , but its just too loud . Alot of droning and a fartcan sound when changing gears slow on the AT transmission.

Yet i still like to remain full catless but i would like a more civilised sound.
Think i will try the milltek exhaust next. It seems very quiet on the video clips i have seen. So i guess in reality it will suit me best.

I am and I have almost none existent drone. I had it before until I welded some vibrant resonators to the midpipes

Check out the AE Performance Exhaust system. Drone is very minimal and sound is intoxicating!

Yeah it probably has to do with beeing fully catless. But even so i expected a more exotic sound from this car. The stock muffler and midpipes really make a nice sound.
I hoped with the vanguard to get a real sporty sound when the revs go up , but it sounds too much like a ricer car to me.

It should be more silent under light throtlle and cruise , and come alive when u push it.

The vanguard has 2 resonators , just like the HKS and the topspeed. I guess these 3 brands just make the same model of exhaust.
The milltek has much larger resonators in the midpipes.

You also really don't get an idea from the sound clips you see on youtube.

Yeah I read that the Vanguard was loud... Def not what I'm looking for...

I heard the Bastuck exhaust was on the quiet side for aftermarket exhausts... Can anyone confirm that the Bastuck is not much louder then the stock exhaust?

I have the Borla with secondary cat delete and it sounds great but there is definitely drone. It's a little loud but if I didn't wanna hear my exhaust I would've kept the stock.

Borla will ship you venturies that you can install to get rid of the drone. They aren't guaranteed to work to your satisfaction but I don't think they charge for it.

I've Been Running Ae's Exhaust With Catless Dp's. Running A Stock Tune I Will Get Drone At Highway Speeds. When My Procede Is On Any Other Map The Drone Is Gone. I Had The Stock Dp's Reinstalled For A Dealer Trip & In Stock Form No Drone. There Seem To Be Alot Of Members In Your Area They Should Be Able To Show Off What They Are Running.

My PE sounds awesome, is drone free, but not with dp and is only available catback. You might use the PE and some other nice DPs.

If you are really afraid of drone, then you should replace your secondary cats and crushed piping with straight through tubes pairing them to the stock mufflers. I think the stock mufflers sounds nice and removing the secondary cats and any resonators in between will free up some power and sound, also don't forget to do the golf-tee mod.

that being said, if you want to buy something instead of fabricating an exhaust, i'd say go with Milltek because i've ridden in one and it was deep yet drone free on 6AT

+1 Most of the time you will get drone right around 2k RPM or 60-65 mph in 6th gear. Just simply shift out of it or drive faster. I do get some interior vibration from time to time, still can't pin point it. Your best bet is to save some money, buy DP's and get some different mufflers. The sound will be better and performance will almost be the same as full catback.
