Strategy for putting on spoilers
I am picking up my front aero lip, m3 trunk spoiler and roof spoiler from paint today and am looking to put them on. I am going to stick on some 3M tape on the inside of the aero lip and rear spoilers and hold it down with masking tape overnight, any other strategies?

That is the way I did mine, some body shops also like to use urethane (the same stuff they use to glue windshields) it is cheaper than Betalink from BMW.
That is what I used for my rear Vorsteiner trunk spoiler.

to add the trunk lip spoiler you just glue it on??
as in, clean the trunk, and slap it on? thats it?? sounds pretty easy...

I have been wondering about this myself. I have an OEM BMW CF spoiler on the way and I already have some of the betalink. I don't know if I should use that or the 3M tape. I already had a spoiler on the trunk with the tape and it created a gap between the trunk and spoiler. I'm afraid to use the betalink because IDK what will happen if I decide to remove the spoiler.

if you use the right tape, and place it in the correct places (which have indents for the tape) there should be no gaps. My aero lip is installed with the 3m red tape, looks perfect.
If you Betalink it on, it will not come off without damaging the paint underneath.

3M red tape sticks like a mofo, you'll be fine with that
Just make sure you have someone helping you line it up...it is not friendly to your paint trying to get it off |

On the trunk spoiler, I dry fitted, actually drew around the edge of the spoiler on the trunklid and made a corresponding alignment mark on spoiler and trunk with grease pencil. Cleaned trunk attachment area thoroughly with rubbing alcohol to remove any wax, dirt, etc. Then prepared the tape as above with dangling edges @ center, line up spoiler to trace and alignment marks - then attached at center and pulled liner outward, again pushing down firmly as I went. Made sure to push down firmly along both spoilers repeatedly by hand using a towel. Front aero lip Removed all the factory attachment bolts under the stock front bumper where the spoiler will bolt. I installed first dry to check fitment, then made sure there was no paint overspray on back of spoiler where tape will be, sanded these areas lightly, cleaned these areas & corresponding areas on bumper with rubbing alcohol thoroughly. I needed to apply the tape vertically only across the (2) top edges of each center post upright, and horizontally along the edges nearest the wheel wells in the indentation areas. Peeled off liners and attached spoiler - again pressing firmly. Then installed all the attachment bolts thru the aero lip and into the original holes under the bumper cover and tightened.

We use the red 3M mounting tape(grey) for all spoilers. Line it up, peel the back, press firmly, and strap some painters tape if you think it going to fall off overnight.

Yeah, everyone who commented have been right on and almost all the same procedures. 3M is all you need and leaves you the options of a clean removal if you change your mind, etc. Heating the Spoiler/lip area where the tape is will help soften it so it can be removed. then clean up residue with goof off or the like.
