hey guys just got a quote from a local bmw dealership

2011 335is crimson red
msrp 60,775
selling price somewhere in the 55s
he wanted 765 month includes tax
12k miles a year
with a 2000 down payment . is that a good deal ?

October lease rates. The residuals are for 15,000 miles/ year. Add 2% to residuals for 12k miles/year

Current 335is for 3 years is 59% and .0015 for 12k miles.

If the 2k down is a cap cost reduction, and the sell price is $55,775, the lease should be $632.16 before tax. You have to educate yourself on leases - there are so many places the dealer will tuck added cost in.

If the $2k is the drive-off, that's not bad for drive off, but the lease should be $690.72/mo before tax. Don't ever put money down on a lease. Pay the fees, that's it. Paying a cap cost reduction is like pre-paying part of your rent to your land lord.

Money due at signing / Drive-off / Fees:
1. Lease inception. $775. Most dealers will mark this up the max that BMW finance allows, $200. Fight this tooth and nail. Walk if you have to, they'll cave.
2. Security deposit. This is equal to your lease payment, rounded up to the nearest $50. So if your payment is $651, they'll round up to $700. If your payment is $649, they'll round up to $650.
3. Misc. bullshit fees, like factory training and such. You'll have to ask around what is normal, I refuse to pay.
4. First month lease payment.

To get to the invoice of the car, take MSRP and multiply by .92. This will get you very close. Most 3 series can be had for $500-$750 over invoice right now. Not sure about the 335is tho.
