PlastiDip?

I've noticed people plasti dipping stuff. Grilles, wheels, badges, etc..

I was wondering how this stuff holds up through daily driving and washes.

I was thinking of Plastidipping my rear diffuser. Juuuuust in case I don't like it and want to reverse it. haha

If you've plastidipped anything and have had it on for awhile, please post some pics of how it's lasting.

the more coats you do the better it will hold up i plastidiped my grill and emblems oh and trim on my former car and it held up great better than alot of peoples paint think of it as the more you paint the more its protected because you are adding extra plastic to protect also if it does chip get yourself a spare can of actual dip and use a paint brush to touch up small chips and if it has major defects just peel off and re spray!

No prep work required and 100% reversible. I've seen people plastidip their wheels for winter time, and they look great matte black.

I did not know you can do so much with plastidip. Is there a way to make it a gloss black? And has someone done this to their aluminum trim?

It's been done before on E39/E46 before, you can do it on the vehicle given you mask it off properly...but getting it perfect would be difficult without removing trim off the car. Issue is when you remove masking tape it tends to just remove parts of the plastidip along with it.

And removing the trim without damaging it is tricky, I know because I tried and ended up just damaging mine (granted it's an E39).

i go with with matte black on the grilles, it lasts much longer than plastidip and doesnt chip overtime as well

I've never heard of this before until now but it seems like a great idea for wheels and my front grill.
