UPDATE: angel eyes only, E90
Ok, yes I searched, and read all of the posts on this subject- I just want to be sure, as far as I can see, no one has been able to set DRL's to angel eyes only, meaning no blinker, and no rear lights on- I am thinking about trying an idea that I have had for a while.....wire the angel eye light to something that comes on with the ignition, then put in a resistor so that you get no error code, then you will have rings only all of the time- now, I am pretty handy, but as far as a resistor goes, I am not sure what kind to get, so if someone can give me an opinion as to weather or not this will work, I am willing to give it a try

i know there's the corner delete mod that will remove the blinker, but i'm sure the rear lights stay on. besides why would you want the angel eyes on all the time? even if you upgraded to the lux 2.0, which are the brightest that i know of for the e90, e91, they still aren't noticeable during the day. but you're welcome to try.

I saw the video on you tube, and it doesnt make any sense to me, first he starts his car, then he turns on his parking lights, then he turns off the drl's, what did that accomplish? unless I am missing something, that video does nothing! I have i-drive, but I did the same thing as he did, and it didnt change anything!

OK....
the video on you tube is an e92... On the e92, you can program the angel eyes to be your DRL's. That is what that video is demonstrating. The guy who made that video posts here from time to time, adn misunderstood what was being asked of him. As for the CDM (corner delete mod) it is for the e90 (i don't know how apllicable it is o the e92 headlights). It will allow you to have your angel eyes only when you turn on the parking lights. This will, of course, also turn on the rear lights. My car is a pre sept 2005 build, so my DRL's are not programmable by me, and I don't feel like telling my dealership that I've been re-wiring my car. As for the resistors required, that info is included in the corner delete mod DIY http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45820

yes, but it is to turn the DRLs off and leave the angels on with the parking lights. the DRLs run with the halogens, parking lights, and angels on. what he did was turned off the halogens.
off topic, but if i were to buy euro spec xenons would i be able to run only angels like they do in europe? |

No it's dependent on the FRM (footwell module) programming, not the headlight. It is unlikely that any US BMW dealer would re-program your FRM to Euro spec.

What if you turn of DRL's entirely, and just do the CDM and turn the light switch to parking lights when you want the angels on? That's what I do.

UPDATE: looks like this is going to work, I spent 3 hours on it this morning, a few details to work out, I should have a DIY up by the end of next weekend. I cant fully test it until late next week because I am having my M5 front installed, and at that time, I will have my euro clears installed, and I will fully test the angel eyes only DIY
