I paid a lawyer to do mine and just turned it in last week. Its up to you how you want to do it. I could of save myself 10%. Another point get an opinion from 2 lawyers i learn the hard way. I had a case 1 year ago during my lease but never did it and tried after my lease and was told no because i financed the car. Then my fuel pump went out again and then the attorney took it on but I didnt get my money back from the lease which wasnt good because i purchased the car...

Much easier to see a lawyer, sign a paper, then have it all done

than call bmw, open a case, wait for a counter offer, etc etc...

but to each his own
Same with me.

BTW, E90post is so much more active than M3post....so much more entertaining....

Heck, if there's no fee it's a no brainer.

Yup that's my car. haha I had work so I asked them to drop it off for me.
Nick has been helpful- although I know he's always busy with customers. Hopefully the car will be done by tomorrow. I miss it. Nothing like driving my brother's camry to make you appreciate the bimmer.

PS- what does it mean when BMW buys back your car? Does that mean they pay what you paid for the car or just what it's worth on the market right now?

you get back what you paid, including taxes, finance charges, if any, dmv fees, etc., less a usage fee determined by the number of miles driven up until the time of the reason for the buyback.

Problem here is that the dealership or is it BMW NA refuses to replace the fuel pump. I have symptoms of the fuel pump going but not check engine lights. When I brought it to a bmw dealership they noticed that there were fuel pump warning codes when they scanned the ecu but they chose to just reflash the ecu and clear the codes. I brought it to another dealership when the car started to give me rough starts not more than 3 weeks later. This time no ecu codes so all they did is another software flash. I'm scheduling another service appt as we speak not one week later......

So now some of you guys had 2 or 3 fuel pumps go. My car had 1 go already but I wasn't the owner then so I can't claim that it happened to me. Now they are playing the prolong game to see how far it can go before I get stranded on a road somewhere.

Dealers are required to reflash before anything [lookup the service flow chart floating around]. Then they send you on your way and do nothing until another codes is thrown. New software basically increases code tollerances.
Agrue enough and you'll get a HPFP eventually.

However... Not positive, but after 4 unsuccessful attempts to fix an engine related issue I believe you're in lemon law territory.

BMW recalling 150,000 cars over fuel pumps: http://auto.ocregister.com/2010/10/2...-system/44944/

I've had 2 software updates, 4 fuel pumps and one turbo replaced. I filed a lemon law suite a few weeks back with a lemon law attorney, BMW will pay the attorney fees.

Here is his info, give him a call if you're having issues:
