What a day I am having.... ---Voice Command Disappeared???
Ok, So E92 is not my daily driver and today we had a very nice sunny day in Seattle so I decided to take it out of storage.... Everything was fine until it was time to park the car back...
On the way back Voice Command function for i-drive / nav stopped working.... I tried both buttons & nothing.... The thing doesn't beep..... I turned off the car waited several min.... & back on ...still nothing.... Did this ever happen to anyone before....? I have realized that I absolutely do not know how to use i-drive / nav without voice commands..... At the top of that I scraped / chipped the passenger rear rim.... This is probably my 7th or 8th car with 17"+ rims and that was a 1st.... It is a very small chip but knowing that it is there will BUG the heck out of me...Sorry...just venting in here.... So the voice command function disappearing.....happened to anyone? And Yes, the volume is also up too.... Thanks in advance.

This is very weird. It happened to me yesterday too. This is the 4th incident of the VC going away yesterday. Mine restored after the car sat for a few hours. I remember reading a few years ago in the BMW magazine about BMWs plan to be able to load software to the car via the BMW
Assist com link. The article was about future technologies/software that BMW was working on. It was in the BMW magazine six or seven years ago. Maybe BMW downloaded some software to all of us yesterday.... |

Twice I've had my Sat radio go dead for ~ 5 min while driving, and the buttons are all "dead" like the system is crashed.
Similary, more than once, I've had the radio lock up on a station and the buttons again went "dead". In all cases, I had to turn the car off and wait a couple of minutes to get the system reset properly. A quick engine shut off/on did not do it. |

Thanks all.... As you suggested I went and started the car up today and everything was working fine..... I wonder if there will be a real fix for it in the future but thus far things are back to normal.
Once agin thank you for your inputs.
