Owned Conti Comfort kit for almost 3 years. The sealant is about to expire. Think I might replace with this:

FWIW, The TireRack guy I just talked to says he owns a ContiKit and that he uses it all the time as just a plain compressor (without sealant). He says the sealant is a separate canister that you can hook up as needed. So, I guess I'm not understanding the issue with "separate tubes"? Are you saying that some residual sealant might be left in a tube and you're worried this will end up in your tire? Wouldn't the simple act of pushing compressed air through the tube before hooking it up to a tire clean out like 99.99% of the sealant? And if not, is there any reason to think any sealant residue would end up in your tire?

Just Purchased the ContiComfortKit for $79.99 + $10.67 S/H = $89.67
That's almost half price compared to the M-Mobility Kit. Done the research - the difference between the two is not worth another $60-$90 for the M-Mobility Kit. P.S. I went from the Bridgestone RunFlats to Continental ExtremeContact DWS (18" Staggared Setup) and loving it. $850 Out the Door for the DWS which will last up to 50,000 miles vs. $1,250 for the RunFlat which lasted 18,000 mikes before needing to be replaced. |
