I got a nail in a RFT over a year ago. I left the nail in, and squirted "fix a flat" stuff into the tire. The tire hasn't lost any air pressure outside the normal 1-4 psi over many months. The tire pressure indicator is on, but the tire is fine (I check them every month).

If you can live with the indicator light, you can go a long time without needing to do anything. I did this because the BMW folks told me I needed to buy a new tire, but actually it would have been two tires for "balance" and consistency of wear...and frankly, I wasn't keen on spending $400/tire and trash tires that had half their life left in them.
how fast did u drive with the nail in them? and how long did it last?

Tire pressure monitor reset. It's in the manual depending on the dash you have.

Garage List
as long as the nail doesnt pierce the inside "run flat"
part of the tire you are good. the bimmer dealership can check that. when i was in germany i had a nail it didnt pierce and all they did was put a rubber cement type sealant on it and i was good to go. i had those tires for about 20,000 miles now and recently just had to replace them because of another nail. this time it did go through. my dealership replaced all four tires and balanced and installed them for about 2200. yes i know its a ridiculous price but the tired were there next day and my car was good to go within 24 hours of scheduling the appt. they also changed my oil (woot woot). i know you can find tired from anywhere from $320 was the cheapest i found (potenza rf 19") up tp about $380 (potenza rf 19") back is a little more expensive due to the different sizes. hope this helps.
