In-Car Cam Set-ups for DEs
If you're like me, you like to document EVERYTHING! This is a thread to discuss in-car cam setups to record your runs for later viewing.
Currently, I use the ChaseCam sticky mount with an old miniDV cam coupled with a .3x semi-fisheye lens. It looks like this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...62929994236221 The sticky mount is placed above eye-level, cause I was just messing around. For an actual run, I'd probably place it lower and zoom in a bit. Before, I made my own mount out of an aluminum bar attached to the child safety rings in the rearseats. MiniDV cam, no wide angle lens. Pretty stable, but a hassle to adjust, remove, and replace tapes. It looks like this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...11212660579819 In the future, I hope to get a couple lipstick/bullet cams and synch the footage into Best Motoring style videos. I'd be glad to help anyone fabricate a cheap mount or answer any questions. |
