Tune vs Wastegate rattle??
I have a Jb3 version 2.0 and a really bad wastegate rattle I was going to take my car to warranty and took out the jb3 and the rattle is gone 98%.
Has anyone also seen this? http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...procede+rattle

I noticed the same thing with my JB. I even tried the bypass fix, no joy. With the dealers I had a pretty bad run around with my wastegates trying to get them fixed. Its such a horrible sound, and people are like "hey dude, whats wrong with your car". switched to the procede from JB after research, being able to manualy adjust your WG was a big seller. Some times with auto tune it adjusts the value back up to where it will rattle for a bit, and then after driving it for a couple miles it adjusts back to where it wont do it, If it bothers you that much you can always turn off the auto tune.

Im starting to like Procede, I really hate the rattle sound and the difference with JB3 and without is huge and with JB3 so far there is nothing I can do!

To those experiencing rattle with the Procede, just lower the wastegate position value to the minimum setting (30%). This will keep your wastegates open during deccel, light cruise and idle. During these conditions, your exhaust note will sound a little bit deeper and your rattle will be eliminated. My early production 2007 car with original 75k miles wastegate/turbos rattle like crazy stock. With this Procede adjustment, I can't get them to make a noise.
Keep in mind that the car needs to be warmed up above 170f oil temp before the Procede adjusts the wastegate position. So you will still hear rattle when the engine is cold. And it will suddenly stop once the car warms up a bit. |

Question, is there any reason to try 90 > 80 > etc? Should I just go straight to 30? BTW Shiv, you must have a million subscriptions. |
