October delivery date?!

Hey guys, I decided to place my order for the 335i, but I was told that the delivery date is estimated to be in October. I mean this is more than 6 months away... Does this seem irregular to anyone? It seems that most people waited no more than 3 months (but I guess the demand is increasing more than the supply).

There has been lot of members saying they have to wait until July so I wouldn't be surprised. This is probably a small chance but have you checked their inventory?

Ps. Nice nickname by the way E90Post'a hosgeldin

have you tried calling the other dealers within 100 miles or so and seeing how far out their lists are? each dealer gets a different number of allotments each month depending on how many cars they sell and CSI scores. that dealer may only get 3 a month and another dealer could get 6. the dealer with 6 will have more people on the list, but they will fill them much faster. make sense?

That is all true, but it actually might make sense to wait for an 08 model at this time.

sure... but talking about waiting an additional 4 months is a lot easier than actually waiting those 4 months yes?

Yes everyone here has made a good point. My dilemma about waiting for the '08 model is that I will have to wait until October, then order, therefore waiting an additional amount of time. I was really counting on having this car about late August. But thank you for the suggestion theroyalwe, this sounds like a good idea. Might actually be worth it to check out some other dealers, 6 months is just wayyyyyyyy too long. Thanks again guys.

Now this I like... I wish my dealer would pull something like this, hmm.... But May 15, that's SO MUCH more reasonable than October...

Just go online to each dealer in southern Florida and find out which ones have unsold allocations for the model you want. Talk to those dealers and find out what production weeks their allocations have assigned.

According to the BMWUSA website you have 25 dealers in Florida, I would bet that a good number of them are within 2-3 hours drive from Orlando. I would say you have more options than most (OK, maybe not folks in Cali...)

Anyway, you just need to find an unsold allocation and jump on it fast. You're still probably looking at a 10-12 week wait though.
