Service Indicator at 6k miles? - PROcede?
Hi all,
I'm currently at 6,000 miles on my E92 335i and the word "service" shows up at startup. Additionally if I scroll through the dash menu (I don't have Idrive) I get an icon of the car with a "Double-S". Has anyone seen this? I can't imagine at 6,000 miles (and not one year since build date) they want to do the first oil change. It's PROceded but I imagine any trouble with that would trip a check engine light, not a "service" light. Thoughts? |

Hmm, I did find where you got that. Why the he!! would it want a roadworthiness test at less than a year? Is my tire about to fall off or something lol?

Is your car a CA car? The manual says "Indicates special equipment, country-specific equipment and optional extras, as well as equipment and functions not yet available at the time of printing." Good luck.. |

Haven't taken it to the dealer but will soon. Odd thing is that my vehicle is an American (and not Californian) vehicle.
Roadworthiness tests are generally a Euro or Latin American thing - not something I've seen in the good ol' USA. At least not where I've lived. ManacoBimm - what did you do about yours? Does the dealer literally just drive it around, do a few burnouts and then say "Yup, still roadworthy!" |

I highly doubt it. I've never even seen this code before I suspect it has something to do with the altitude (11,000' above sea level).
