ED: Question about Leasing and amount of days...

required to stay in Europe. I read a couple different posts and on the EDBMW website that you have to stay in Europe for at least 30 days if you are planning on leasing the car.

Is this true? Or leasing a car is no different from buying, in terms of the amount of time needed to be in Europe. Hence I can sign the paperwork in Munich and just take the next flight back to Chicago...

thanks. Joe

Hmmm, I'm not sure where you read the above. There is no minimum time length. There is a maximum time length though.

People have flown in the AM and flown back out in the afternoon.

Yea, definitely no length of stay required. Just got back from my ED leasing my car and was there 4 days.

hey Joe, I was on the edbmw.com forum as well, but I don't recall seeing that thread. I know somebody mentioned that you don't have to, and it's totally up to you if you wanna pick up the car and drop it off right the way. Somebody did ask though if they can go to Eastern Europe with a leased car and in that case the answer is yes.

If you can get a plane back the same day that would probably be a record for the fastest ED,but you can always get one the next day if you're pressed for time.

I think you can stay up to 3 months on a lease and 6 months if you purchase.I have only had one customer stay as long as 3 months with the car and was gone for a total of 6 months on his honeymoon. He wrote such a great story,we posted it on our web site at http://www.edbmw.com/main/edgallery.html
