Rial Salerno 17s winters photo on E93 ZSP

Sharing a couple photos of Rial Salerno 17s on the 07' E93 ZSP. They fit the car well - great look for the money. Anyone with the sport package, as many posts indicate - these rims fit (it is close, you can't even get your pinky between the caliper and the rim).

The tires are michelin primacy alpin pa3 225/45 17s. I got these instead of the pilots due to the harsh MN winters (winter 09' was ridiculous). Hopefully the lower speed rating (H, 130 vs. V, 149) will give some better snow/ice performance.

I won't know the snow/ice performance until that comes (I'm in MN so it will be soon). They are a bit more noisy than I expected. The handling is decent for a winter tire. On our other car, an 08' Lexus IS250 AWD, we have WS60s and those are mushy (but excellent in snow/ice) - wouldn't do that again... scary bad dry/wet braking.

I agree, the Rial Salerno is a great winter wheel. Simple 5 spoke design makes it easy to keep clean and with a BMW roundel, most people assume it's a stock wheel!

That's because they look similar to style 199

Thanks for posting...I was thinking about going to 18's because I can't find any rims I like at TireRack(17") but those look pretty good...a lot better on a real car.

Thumbs up

Considering the same rim instead of a BMW replica... Because it does look just like the style 199 (?). Looking forward to seeing it on your LCI e90 since that will be my application too.

Somewhat off-topic (update):

I just can't believe how much better this car rides (and has more natural steering) on non-RFTs. Night and DAY. So much so, I'm considering buying some non-RFTs next summer and storing my RFTs for later use (they are new with ~1,000mi.) or to put on at sale time.

Several years ago, I had a Z3 and put GoodYear F1 GS-D3s on and really liked them on that car.

Anyway, just had to mention this - not earth shattering news (many posts about it) - just shocking to me.

BTW, the noise level is better after about 500 miles. I lowered the inflation pressures to the recommended levels in the manual (too high from the dealer). And, I think they wore in a bit (65F temps are unexpected in MN in November - probably really wearing them in!)...

Still pretty impressed with the handling - not razor sharp - but decent for a soft H-rated winter tire.
