I drove a new Mustang on both dragstrip and rally course, and they are FAST - very good handling & feel. Ford has come a long way with the Mustang. When you're BMW & King of the Hill for so long - you have to expect that sooner or later someone is gonna come up from behind and knock you out if you continue to rest on your laurels.
If I had my choice I would still go with the M3 due to BMW quality & the prestige. The Mustang interior & exterior styling doesn't even hold a candle to a BMW. I like to look at all aspects of a car when buying - not just performance. I would also say that the BMW is easier to drive fast for the normal driver with all the electronics & such. Now get a pro driver like the one in video and things tend to even out... The Mustang however, is much more owner friendly for maintenance and repairs than the BMW Another car that the M3 needs to look out for is the new Cadillac CTS-V - I know, a Cadillac!

I would like too see someone els do this comparison , evry time Auto Trend dose a compression against a BMW the BMW losses but when others do the same test it wins . Just like they said the G37 was better then the 335i

Performance isn't everything. 99% of the time you're no where near pushing the limits of the car when you drive, and seeing as how you're always inside the car, the quality of the interior matters a lot to me. With that said, performance wise it is VERY impressive, and an excellent value, so if that's what you're looking for it's an excellent choice.

Ford is fix or repair daily. I used to be a service advisor at a
Ford dealer in Vernon CT and I have never seen so much warranty for rear main seals , transmissions , and engines. You get what you pay for. Fords are for rednecks. |

its like what my pops told me between choosing the e92, a mazda speed and a sti. what would you rather take to a wedding or any nice event. plus the chick factor, you dont wanna get a car that attracts street/ghetto girls, and worst minors lmao

This has been around for quite some time. There is a multi page post somewhere else on the board, but what it boils down to is the bimmer is more refined/nicer to drive on a daily basis. If your looking for a 1/4 mile/track beast a bmw should be pretty damn far down on your list.
I tested the 5.0 before I went with my new 335i and although it seemed really nice, I really enjoyed they way the bmw felt. Different types of cars. ![]() But finally Ford is getting it right and the mustang is again something to be admired. |

My 335i has been in the shop more often in 1 month than my 1997 Ford Thunderbird in it's entire lifetime. And this deal will most likely continue with the BMW. I've test driven more loaner cars than I could care for. From personal experience if you told me that BMW is a more reliable machine than Ford you would have a very hard time trying to convince me.
