Looking to tint... Again

Hey everyone So i've owned my car of about 4 years now and my tint done at lorenzo in NY has help up EXTREMELY well. Now i want to go from 50% to 20%. I was going to visit TOTL in lodi and was wondering about you guys feedback.

It's been 4 years now and i wonder if these tint places have done anything about bettering the dot matrix. I'm looking for ANYONE to do this job.

TOTL quoted me $100 to remove tint, and $240 to install 3M tint on everything except windshield. I mean, everywhere else i check charge $50 to remove tint, and some will remove it free if you are getting it done there. That would be $340 to get it done and i don't know if the dot matrix will even come out like the pictures above. I guess i'm looking for someone to take their time and get it done like it shows above.

Anybody recommend a good place? And if you have a space grey with 20% tint PLEASE PLEASE post pics. i was going to go with 35% but 20% just seems like it keeps it more cool (temp) and makes the tint worth it.

Please let me know I'm looking to get it done within the next 2 weeks, if not thursday

btw pictures provided is NOT lorenzo in NY. My dot matrix looks just' like everyone else. I paid $400+ but after the tint, i get the usual respond that most get "well... the dot matrix ....... I mean we did the best we can to get them to hold...."

These pics was from a member on the forum i think done out of country or something.

Don't ever pay $400 for tint and the dot matrix is less of an issue

.. I don't have anything useful to say other than $400 for tint is a rip.. Even over $200 is a rip unless it's good material.

I agree. i had my friend who tinted his tints and it was $100 plus tax. I NEVER heard of pro tint film, but he keeps telling me, "so what i get LIFETIME CHANGES ON PURPLE OR BUBBLES".... I'm here with my $400 tints feeling really ripped off.

I know 3M and Huper optic are expensive $300+ but i'd REALLY be happy if i could spend $300 or less for great quality tint.

check out leeberbs of Applied Film Technologies in Kenilworth, NJ. I have been getting cars done there for years, and I have never heard of a negative experience anyone has had with him.

so im' going to be checking this place in new brunswick and the price was pretty good. It was for Solar Guard. They commented that they will do the best they can but there is no guarantee that it will lay flat.

Soo, i'm still searching. I know MANY great tint places, TOTL tint, Lorenzo NY, ProTint, etc.... But i have no problem with the sides and rear sides, my concern is the dot matrix themselves. It seems like within our community here we probably have about 10-20 people in over 500+ member who have done it done with the results shown above.

If anyone knows a tint place that does a dot matrix job similar to the pictures shown above please let me know here in NJ. I'd like to go check them out. Because to get the rest of the car done, all the tint place and most will do a great job. At that point it's all about the tint film, percentage and person putting it on... but a correct dot matrix is what i'm after,... Of course with a $250- price

Like I said, contact Lee. He'll hook you up with a great price and he is a perfectionist.

so i contacted Lee and he said although he can use many different methods to make the dot matrix look better, it is still difficult to make it stick and may not come out perfect.

I'm trying to find this web site of a place i plan on visiting tomorrow on my day day. he quoted me like 300 that's including the removal of tints or 250... something like that.

Let me know how it works out. I will try to take a picture of my tint around the dot matrix for you.

My previous 335i had 25% all around. Could practically see right through it. Provided a little reflection during the day. Bought my current e92 and it had 5% on it. Great during the day but can't see shit at night. Looked great on the "murdered out" car. Today I had it switched to a ceramic lumar film 15% (really 17) and it perfect. Can't really see in it during the day (alot better than 25) but can see out fine at night. I would say 15-20% is the perfect balance.
But hey, where I am almost every car you see has at least 25. Moat are 15 and 5.
