But in the end, when I removed all the aftermarket parts on my car, I purchased a procede and used that for the last year until I gave up the car. It is the most complete tune for the engine, and honestly BMS wouldn't exist had Vishnu not tuned this car. This isn't speculation. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH! It's all there, down to Mr. Burger himself asking technical questions in search of answers to build his original juice box.

Those of us who have been around since the platform was released have seen this whole process pan out and it makes me laugh every time I see someone defend BMS and bash vishnu solely on Shiv's choice to point out facts. This is coming from someone with absolutely no investment in either tune. You better believe Terry knows full well that his pricing point is what is selling the black boxes. If Vishnu decided one day to drop their price, they could completely take over the market.

Sad part is, people are deciding to put a product on a $40k+ car based on power and pricing point. There are so many other variables that are completely ignored that are there for the safety of your car.

I really don't care one way or another, it is your car and you are entitled to do what you wish. Mike's job here is damage control and nothing more. If he wasn't here to keep the scales balanced in the constant debate that rages on between these two tunes, E90post.com would be a very different forum.
Those of us that have been here since the beginning know the whole story.

This is OT, but the more appropriate comparison is with the M package. So cost is about 3k more, not 7k. And there are other bits such as lighter flywheel that are relevant. IMO the extra cooling and other performance parts are significant, especially if you plan to put engine under more stress with a tune.

That said, point remains: if you plan to add tune and power is your main priority, the 335is may not be worth the extra $. Get a barebones 335, swap front seats with lightweight recaros, shocks/springs/sways/bushings, forged rims, aftermarket exhaust, etc. N55 still unproven though.

But for an OEM product with warranty, the 335is is outstanding IMO. Like the E46 ZHP, it is a classic.

Base Price --------------------- $50,150 - $43,150
Turning Diameter - Curb to Curb 38.7 ---- 36.1
Suspension Type - Front & Rear Yes ----- No
Final Drive Axle Ratio ---------- 3.08 ---- 3.46
Fuel Economy Est-Combined -- 21MPG -- 22MPG

The is pretty much just comes with a standard sport suspension, available DCT 7 speed transmission, extra cooling and performance tires for an additional $7,000.

If potential buyers are in the market to buy a 3 series and tunning it afterwards, there is no reason to buy the is because the tunning is basically going to turn the n54 into the same power output in any i or is platform.

Vishnu, since the is gets 1mpg less than a standard 335i, when both tuned with the Procede, will they yield the same identical Fuel estimate?

Great car for those who don't want to get into serious mods. For those that do: cooling, flywheel, reliability, N54.

What I am looking forward to are comparisons between tuned 335is and 335. With new features Procede makes it easy to compare temperatures and other data.

Vishnu does not have a spotless record either.. Lets see one that comes to mind.. I think it was boostjunkie....and one more that was not swept under the rug.

I love how the whole JB will ruin your engine crap gets tossed around.
I have had JB products on my last 2 N54's and love it, They do what they are supposed to do and my engines have remained in tact. Granted I don't push the envelope, I just want an extra 60-80hp's and my tune delivers that.

Can you get a 2011 335i with the N54 engine? I thought the N54 was now exclusive to the 335is in the 3 series.

I was going to get JB3 at first, but after doing much more research and lots of searching.... Procede FTW!!!! Youl'll find numerous people here switching from JB3 to Procede and just about all of them could not be more satisfied.

+1, DCT > 6AT any day of the week. Better gearing, faster shift speeds, less drivetrain loss.

If I could only get an N54 with DCT in a regular 135i/335i....
