Wheel spacers - which?

The equation is:

E91 LCI 330d
+
8" 162 wheels (ET34) with Vred Wintracs on
= looks a bit narrow at the back . . .

∴ spacers required

What is the general consensus on size/make/where from to achieve a better visual solution?

Thanks!

I used the Eibach pro-spacers - they are very good and caused no vibration etc at speed which I have heard some of the cheap ones can?

Whatever you buy, make sure they are hubcentric - ie: they have the flange for the wheel hub to sit on and a recess on the back to sit on the hub properly- again the cheap ones just sandwich between the wheel and hub which means the car is effectively sitting on the wheel bolts!

You of course will need longer bolts and longer locking nuts.

Try Teddy at SSDD and tell him your from the forum - he supplied mine for me and gives great service

Not sure if Teddy can supply the extended locking bolts Paul. When I asked him a while back, he said he'd have to look into them.

I've got the same setup as you, but the actual inward movement from OE of the rim is very small - after a week or 3 you probably won't notice anymore - i didn't.

The 8J rim is only 13mm narrower (6.5mm per side) than the 8.5J, and as it's an ET34 it's centre line sits 3mm further outwards than the ET37 of the 8.5J

This means the outer rim is only 3.5mm further inwards than the 8.5J ET37, and 3.5mm is not a lot.

I think the tyre wall angle has a visual effect too.

Although the rim is only 3.5mm inwards, the tyre is 15mm slimmer on each side (if you've gone from 255 to 225)

So the tyre wall is less 'bulbous' and does not overhang the rim like a 255 on the 8.5J standard rear, its just the same as the front combo now of course.

I havent put my winters on yet this year, skating down the road this morning I wish I had them on!

He supplied the lot for me, spacers, long bolts and a set of lockers - all came direct from three sepersate suppliers. Maybe he uses different suppliers now? This was about 12 months ago.

Thanks Gents for the info.

I think I will be a scrooge for the moment and ignore the aesthetics.

Planning on fitting them back on this weekend and enjoy just being able to stop safely! Bit slippery out there!

Regards
