Wheels Stuck

Tried to change to my winter wheels yesterday, but I couldn't get the dam things off, I was hammering the back of the wheel with a rubber mallet/ kicking the thing/pulling at it, but it wouldn't budge.

In the end I put the bolts back in and I'll squeeze the tyres into the car and take it down to a garage for them to change them.

Shocking BMW don't grease the hubs, and a good job they're runflats cause there is no way I'd be changing that at the side of the road.

You should leave a couple of bolts in, but wound out half a turn, then lower the car back on the ground, that normally works if the rubber persuader doesn't

Just read a post about someone sugesting that, I'll bear it in mind.

However I've just phoned the local tyre fitter and they'll change all 4 for £10, thats got to be £10 well spent.

+1 on that - so much easier to get wheels off

Garage changed and greased them, and checked the preasures for £10 BARGIN.

Seriously impressed with how much smoother and quieter they felt, must be the change from run-flats, I always planned to think about ditching the RFT bridgestones once they needed replacing. Now I'm tempted to change them before sticking the wheels back on in the spring.

They look good (but you know that ), not quite as nice as the 19" but the ride and grip makes up for it.
I'll post a pic once I get a chance.

That said the car sits a touch lower, the front end seems to just kiss the road when reversing onto my drive now.
