The sidewalls of the RFT are so strong and thick that they will support the weight of the car even if you lose the air pressure inside of the tire.

Basically a quick run through,
RFT's are reinforced so that if you do have a flat, the side walls are strong enough to support the vehicle without being filled with air long enough to get you to the next stop. -Charles@VMRWheels
