Thumbs down Okay, it was my turn....

.... to get whacked!

I was done with a class today, and was heading to a path around a lake near my apartment in Columbia (Lake Elkhart). Well, I was almost there, when I saw these two guys having a road rage incident in the right lane of three. (I was in the center lane.)

As I was trying to get by, the guy in a Mazda3 hatch decided to flip the pickup ahead of him the bird. The truck hit the brakes in a fake panic stop; the Mazda decided not to eat the bumper and swerved in front of me; and I nosedived. Thanks to the awesome brakes we have, all he did was swipe the front plate off and there is screw damage.

All told, USAA says $680. I have a $100 deduct; and they are going after him/State Farm. USAA has a drive in adjuster at the auto mall where Tischer is, and the idea is that they get the new bumper, paint it, and then call when ready to install.

.... AND YES, I looked at the M-Tech, but I'm not sure I want to wait or nod the leased car that much.

Here's to hoping that they don't mess up the paint job. Also, this means the car will have to wait for Shim's work until the paint "sets". Oh joy...

After some of the idiots down in Norfolk (amazingly, we don't teach Squidly how to drive when he joins, so he thinks that he can do what he wants...) I have developed a habit of watching everyone all the time. I think watching him out of the corner of my eye is the only thing that saved it from being worse.... I saw his car move and slammed the brakes. Nope, I didn't swerve, as I hadn't checked that lane in a minute or two. Wasn't sure if it was clear and knew if it wasn't it would have been my fault if I swerved.

I did notice that the temp ran about 10-20deg higher afterward, but I'm not sure if that wasn't due to the temps finally hitting 70+ this afternoon.

Geez, we're dropping like flies around here. Good that you had only very minor damage. $680 is nothing on our cars.

On this topic, it seems like every time I'm on the Beltway, there are idiots that very nearly get me or others into an accident, but (knock on wood) my baby is still okay. I did get a possible rock chip on my windshield today -- another problem is all the damn dump trucks all over the roads. I give them a ton of space, but still, a little rock totally smacked my windshield today at 70 mph.

You 'poisoned' me with the idea that a drop was absolutely necessary. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction with the eibachs. Hope to get them and then installed soon enough.

yes I did the research, the eibachs design/rates are more progressive...should suit better for our streets

Order a set! We'll do the install together. Maybe Sammy can get us some group install rates or something

Oth, maybe I'll try out Shim's friend
