RFT Bridgestone Tyre Pressure

Hi,

The ride with the RFT Bridgestones are quite firm.. just wondering what tyre pressures people have?

Cheers

40 psi
Any less and you risk wearing out the stiff sidewalls

RFT are notorious for being firm due to the stiff sidewall.

Get standard tyres and feel the difference

+1 on 40 though

Not meaning to overtake this thread but I had my car in for a service the other day and the dealer advised and changed my tyre pressures to the bMW recomended for 19" wheels: 40 PSI front and 48 PSI rear. They said no difference in pressure for RFT or not RFT. I though 48 psi would be too bouncy and offer less grip in the wet but I have left it like that and the car actually feels better.

What size tyres do you have?

M-sport 17's in RE050A seemed best at 37/39 for road use and a couple of psi less on the track.

Any more led to skatiness.

What tyre size do you have? I think the tyre sidewall loading is different depending on the tyre profile. It wouldn't surprise me if you need higher pressure in low profile 19" tyres to get the best tread wear.

I run 36F/38R in 235/40/18 non-staggered. However mine are Conventional Non-RFT.

I have M-sport 18's in RE050A

225/40 in front, and 255/35 at the rear.

Same!

I'm running trying 36 front and rear at this moment. I use to run 40 front and rear and found it to be bouncy on rough road so dropped it slightly to get better traction on recent cruise. When I first picked up car, the dealer had the tires set at 45 which resulted in my traction control cutting in regular on slight bumps.
