I've got a 2007 328i that I've had for about a month so I'm still learning how the i-Drive system works. I've been using USB thumb drives in the AUX-USB port to listen to mp3s and have noticed that the audio system will randomly be on "radio" when I get back in the car, even though it is always on AUX-USB when I get out. The switch always happens between startups (doesn't do it while I'm driving) and it always defaults to radio. The confusing thing is that there's no set pattern. One time I didn't drive the car over a long weekend and the first time I drove it, the AUX came up first thing. Other times I've run into the store for 5 minutes, started the car back up and *boom*, radio. Grr!

Is the thumb drive always in the USB slot? While shutting off and before turning on?
