Vinyl wrapping

Does anyone have any experience of vinyl wrapping?
I'm thinking of having gloss black applied to the roof of my white F10 and I'm concerned as to whether it might interfere with signals to the shark-fin antenna.
Any opinions appreciated - thanks.

I'm not sure about the aesthetic appeal of that but it certainly will not affect the antenna. PVC is transparent to RF.

Thanks for the reassurance.
At the risk of getting a bollocking for being on the wrong forum, here's what it would look like:

I was sharing Ian's concerns but must admit it does look very good from that photo.

Such a good looking car the 5 series, and the new 7 series, I struggle to tell the difference between them...

I don't see why you just wouldn't wrap it in the same vinyl as the rest of the roof. Surely that's easier?

That's exactly what I want to do, but not knowing the composition of the vinyl, I had a minor concern as to whether it could impair the antenna sensitivity.

I don't see the fin as being the easiest shape thing to wrap and not show joins/creases, but I'm no expert.

I reckon it would look the part.

I'm considering doing a course on vinyl wrapping as I quite fancy getting into it as the demand seem's to be increasing. If/When the car scene demand for wrapping dies down, there will always be the comercial end of the market.

I think on white it looks sweeet....

I think wrapping is the way forward in the modern world...... We change phone covers every 10 minutes, why not car part colours......

The only downside i see is that instead of seeing the odd twat running around with an England flag painted on their bonnet in emulsion, we may end up with towns full of cars with Flags on their bonnets (in perfect vinyl detail) weeks after we get laughed out of the latest tourney......

Definitely not. The fin itself is a polymer plastic anyway. Del has a point about how easy it is to actually wrap without showing joins but I can't comment on that. I'm sure they'd manage it though.
