Has anyone got the Drone system installed in their Bimmer? They system looks amazing and I want to know how compatible it is with our vehicles. iPhone ap operated - Nice!

Neither the Drone nor the Smart Start from Directed actually interface with the vehicle at all. They plug into a remote start or alarm system, which then barely interfaces with the vehicle. The actual interface with the Compustar occurs with a CAN-SL2 databus module and the corresponding plug-in BMW interface, or with the Directed DLPK and their BMW interface.
So if you research "CAN-SL2" and "BMW" or "DLPK" and "BMW" you should get the answer to the actual question. And the Smart Start app looks way better than the Drone app. I am not totally certain if it's offered in CAN, but I would think so. |
