335i Fuel pump question

For all of you that have had your fuel pump replaced I have a question... actually two questions.

1. Does the 335i have more than one pump?

2. If so, which is the one that is failing?

Many thanks,
John

its the HPI (high pressure injection system) fuel pump at the engine, not the the fuel pump in the gas tank

Do the new cars (e.g., 2/07 build) have an improved pump or are they replacing with the same one?

Supposedly the defective fuel pumps were installed in vehicles produced between 6/6 and 9/6, and vehicles produced afterwards do not have the same problem. This is pure hearsay on my part, though, as I do not have the source of that statement-- one thing that is consistent is that the pumps fail under wide-open-throttle, and if they're going to fail, they fail early in their lives (< 6000 miles) Once you have 10k plus on them, not many reports of failures.

I'm a 10/06 production car. Looks like my fuel pump failed as I got exactly the same symptoms as people who have described fuel pump failures. Car's going into the dealer on tuesday, will keep you updated on the diagnosis.

sstarch1: You had your fuel pump replaced and then it broke again??? Or was it just a software update that they did only?

they either stuck on a used one, or never really replaced it... just did some band-aid fixes...

any way to check the date of the second pump?

how are you getting pumps replaced so quickly? Mine has been down for 11 days now...
